View all jobs<br><br>DevOps Engineer 4 or 5 - (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker)<br><br>Annapolis Junction, Maryland<br><br><ul><li> Computer/Software<br><br></li></ul><strong>DevOps Engineer 4 or 5 - (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker)<br><br></strong><strong>Clearance:</strong> TS/SCI - Polygraph required<br><br><strong>Position ID:</strong> 09-8872-DE4or5<br><br><strong>Location:</strong> Annapolis Junction, Maryland<br><br><strong>Description<br><br></strong>Provide a reliable, highly available platform that orchestrates the microservices of a modernized operational system utilizing cutting edge technologies.<br><br>The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for architecting, automating, and supporting infrastructure, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud cost optimization.<br><br><ul><li>Provide a reliable, highly available platform that orchestrates the microservices of a modernized operational system.</li><li>Architect infrastructure leveraging AWS technologies and services.</li><li>Develop Infrastructure as Code and scripting to automate tasks, provision managed services, and build tools.</li><li>Install, configure, and provide performance tuning utilizing Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Docker, Docker Compose, etc.</li><li>Perform high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, cost analysis, implementation, and complex issue resolutions.</li><li>Iteratively evaluate costs, recommend cost savings measures, reduce maintenance, and reduce AWS services costs.</li><li>Sprint priority decomposition and ticket generation to align with internal team priorities.</li><li>Manage team tasking and sprint workloads.</li><li>Track ticket execution while driving technical direction of the infrastructure to align with the program and product needs.</li><li>Manage CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying code utilizing GitLab runners and Argo CD.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Position Required Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Extensive experience architecting infrastructure leveraging AWS technologies and services.</li><li>Developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting to automate tasks, provision managed services, and build tools.</li><li>Popular programming languages for DevOps engineers include Python, Ansible, and Terraform.</li><li>Strong background in containerization technologies: install, configure, and provide performance tuning utilizing Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Docker, Docker Compose, etc.</li><li>Perform high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, cost analysis, implementation, and complex issue resolutions.</li><li>Cloud infrastructure cost savings: iteratively evaluate costs, recommend cost savings measures, reduce maintenance, and reduce AWS services costs.</li><li>Sprint priority decomposition and ticket generation to align with internal team priorities.</li><li>Manage team tasking and sprint workloads, keeping the team on task and executing in an orchestrated manner.</li><li>Tracking ticket execution while driving technical direction of the infrastructure to align with the program and product needs.</li><li>Managing CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying code utilizing GitLab runners and Argo CD.</li><li>Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members, as well as with stakeholders.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Position Desired Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure including but not limited to EC2, Lambdas, S3, SNS, SQS, Event Router, Athena, Step Functions using Terraform and auto scaling.</li><li>Understanding of AWS networking principles to include VPCs, NATs, IP Gateway.</li><li>Develop and manage Gitlab CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes.</li><li>Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability.</li><li>Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure system uptime.</li><li>Kubernetes experience with a focus on EKS, ECS, and/or Fargate.<br><br></li></ul><strong>DevOps Engineer 4 Qualifications<br><br></strong>12 years or more of professional experience with a Bachelors degree; or 10 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.<br><br><strong>DevOps Engineer 5 Qualifications<br><br></strong>15 years or more of professional experience with a Bachelors degree; or 13 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.<br><br>The position allows little to no work from home and will require a significant portion or all work to be performed in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).<br><br><strong>Salary Range:</strong> <em>**$216k-$275k (Annually)<br><br></em><ul><li>The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position.
