As an Environmental Services Compliance Manager, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our operations meet the highest environmental standards, while also driving cost savings and improving compliance. Job Summary We're seeking an experienced Environmental Services Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Services team, you'll be responsible for providing day-to-day compliance support to our vehicle maintenance and warehouse facilities, ensuring we meet local, state, and federal environmental regulations. You'll also be responsible for developing and implementing environmental controls, conducting facility audits, and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement. Key Responsibilities As an Environmental Services Compliance Manager, your key responsibilities will include • Providing day-to-day compliance support to vehicle maintenance and warehouse facilities, including performing routine facility audits and facility compliance visits. • Staying current with local, state, and federal environmental regulations impacting Ryder, developing and implementing environmental controls to reduce risk and improve environmental compliance. • Updating and expanding field management tools and programs for providing environmental support and improving environmental awareness, including training for waste management, spill response, regulatory reporting, and others, as required. • Performing data analysis and reporting, including measuring waste spend, communicating results, and providing cost savings recommendations. • Developing and implementing environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. • Conducting facility audits and compliance visits to ensure adherence to environmental regulations and company policies. • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, and logistics teams, to ensure environmental compliance and sustainability. • Providing training and education to employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices. • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in environmental management and compliance. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field. • At least 5 years of experience in environmental compliance, management, or a related field, preferably in a large corporation setting. • Intermediate knowledge of environmental laws impacting the transportation and logistics industry. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset • A Master's degree in Environmental Science or a related field. • Experience working with regulatory agencies or consulting firms in the environmental area. • Knowledge of environmental management systems, such as ISO 14001. • Experience with environmental data analysis and reporting. • Certifications in environmental management, such as CEM or CEP.
