Responsibility

Job Summary The role is responsible for managing end-to-end financial accounting and reporting functions, ensuring accurate general ledger maintenance, robust financial controls, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will support month-end and year-end closing, statutory and management reporting, group consolidation, expense analysis, and audit coordination, while also contributing to team development.

Handle and maintain General Ledger

  • Ensure completeness, accuracy and validity of data import from Core Systems to Financial system and MFRS17 solution.
  • Manage sub-ledger processes and ensure accurate postings and reconciliations with the General Ledger.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across various systems, including validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure smooth month-end and year-end closing activities.
Analyse Expenses Movement and Financial Ratio
  • Assist in preparing the annual and revised plan for management expenses.
  • Monitor actual expense incurred against LY and Plan.
  • Maintain accurate records for Intermediary Related Expenses (“IRE”).
Statutory and Management Financial Reporting
  • Comply with accounting standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Deliver timely and accurate statutory and management reports.
  • Prepare and review financial reports for management, regional, group reporting, and regulatory bodies (e.g., BNM, ISM, PIDM), including audited financial statements, board papers, and GAAP reporting.
Group Reporting
  • Maintain Head Office system for consolidation reporting.
  • Prepare and submit group reporting packages, ensuring compliance with requirements and adherence to deadlines.
Compliance and Internal Control System
  • Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal control requirements across all financial processes.
  • Adhere to reporting deadlines and requirements under relevant regulations (e.g., BNM guidelines, Companies Act, Financial Services Act, tax regulations).
  • Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with approved accounting standards.
Liaise with internal and external auditors, as well as tax agents, on audit, tax, and financial matters.

Support the development, training, and mentoring of finance team members.
