500 Global is seeking a highly experienced investment professional to help advance our climate investment efforts, with a focus on emerging markets and scalable solutions in the Global South. This role will play an important part in identifying high-impact opportunities and supporting the growth of innovative companies addressing critical climate challenges. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in climate-focused investing, a proven track record of delivering intentional and measurable climate outcomes alongside financial returns, and a strong network across the climate capital stack and founder ecosystems. Key Responsibilities • Source and evaluate high-quality direct investment opportunities from seed through Series A/B stages, with a focus on climate sectors including CleanTech, AgriTech, NatureTech, and related sustainability fields. • Lead investment execution across the full lifecycle—evaluation, structuring, negotiation, and closing. • Provide hands-on support to founders and management teams in emerging markets, particularly in navigating complex regulatory environments, scaling in resource-constrained contexts, and building resilient, sustainable business models. • Monitor portfolio performance using financial, operational, and climate impact metrics; make informed recommendations on follow-ons, strategic support, and exit pathways aligned with fund objectives. • Engage actively with limited partners, DFIs, catalytic funders, and co-investors, helping to communicate the fund’s activities and strengthen alignment around our investment thesis. • Stay informed on emerging technologies, macro trends, and policy developments shaping climate innovation to support investment decision-making. • Collaborate closely with the broader investment team to drive portfolio success and foster partnerships across our climate initiatives. Key Requirements • Extensive venture capital or growth investing experience with a clear focus on climate-focused sectors and scalable solutions in emerging markets. • Demonstrated track record of backing or building ventures that delivered intentional, measurable climate outcomes (mitigation, resilience, adaptation) alongside strong financial performance. • Strong sector fluency—understanding how AgriTech, CleanTech, and NatureTech solutions operate in emerging markets and, ideally, experience scaling technology in resource-constrained environments. • Well-established network across the climate capital landscape, including DFIs, catalytic funders, institutional LPs, and high-impact founder ecosystems. • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to represent the fund’s work effectively across diverse audiences. • Deep commitment to sustainability and ethical investment practices, fully aligned with 500 Global’s mission and values. • Location is flexible; we are open to the right candidate based anywhere globally.
