Position: HR & Payroll Assistant
Salary: TBD
Work Type: Independent Contractor - Full-time remote work
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30AM - 3:30PM PH Time

OVERVIEW:

As an HR & Payroll Assistant, you will support Pear Tree’s internal team with billing, payroll, and contract administration. You will focus on managing tasks related to Xero, assisting with building and reviewing contracts, and ensuring accuracy in contract legality and formatting. The ideal candidate will have strong AU/NZ work experience, particularly in supporting Australian and/or New Zealand businesses, with proven experience in HR and payroll functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage day-to-day HR and payroll administration.
  • Process and maintain billing and payroll accurately using Xero.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain employee and contractor agreements, ensuring correct formatting and documentation.
  • Support the creation and administration of contracts, with attention to compliance and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, payroll data, and HR documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely processing of payroll, invoices, and contract-related tasks.
  • Assist with general HR administrative support and process improvements.

Requirements


QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proven experience as an HR Assistant, Payroll Assistant, or similar HR/payroll support role.
    • Strong hands-on experience using Xero for payroll and/or billing.
    • Previous AU and/or NZ work experience, ideally supporting Australian or New Zealand businesses.
    • Experience in contract administration, including exposure to contract legality and formatting.
    • Strong understanding of HR and payroll processes and best practices.
    • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
