Key Responsibilities

  • Translate and localize content across various formats, including websites, mobile apps, software, and marketing materials.
  • Adapt and modify content to ensure cultural relevance, ensuring the brand message resonates with the target audience.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and designers to ensure seamless integration of localized content.
  • Review and proofread localized content to ensure high quality and accuracy.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of localization tools and technologies.
  • Provide input and recommendations for improving localization processes and efficiency.
  • Assist in the creation and management of language assets and translation memory.
  • Manage multiple localization projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate with vendors and freelance translators when necessary.
  • Report on project status and performance metrics regularly.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in content translation and localization.
  • Strong command of the English language and at least one additional language.
  • Proficiency with localization tools and translation management systems (TMS).
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a strong sense of cultural sensitivity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team.

Experience

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in localization, translation, or content adaptation.
  • Experience in localizing software, websites, mobile apps, or marketing materials for international markets.
  • Familiarity with a variety of industries such as technology, healthcare, e-commerce, or entertainment is a plus.

Working Hours

  • Flexible working hours within the United States.
  • The role requires 40 hours per week, with the option to adjust schedules based on personal and team needs.
  • As this is a remote position, you must have reliable access to the internet and be able to work autonomously.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in at least one foreign language in addition to English is required.
  • Localization Tools Expertise: Hands-on experience with localization tools such as SDL Trados, Memsource, or Wordfast.
  • Cultural Awareness: Deep understanding of cultural nuances and regional differences to adapt content effectively.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a remote working environment.
